Wasim Akram took several wickets in the match and broke the backline of team England. However, the tail-enders gave him tough time in the field and they resisted for quite a while. The thin young man was not happy about the prolonged stay of non-regular batsmen.
Neither was his captain, Javed Miandad happy with the delaying tactics of opponent batsmen and he asked Wasim Akram to teach them a harsh lesson. The great fast bowler of his time decided to bowl consistent bouncers in the match to terrify the batsmen.
His tactic really worked for his team and they secured numerous successes in the match. When the last batsman of England was batting, a strange thing happened there. Akram bowled a half tracker at him that struck him in the head and he was down at the wicket. The field umpire issued a warning to the great bowler for bowling the dangerous bouncer and asked him to avoid it next time. It was beyond considerations for Pakistan Cricket Team and they refused to take the orders of umpire.
The captain of Pakistan Team told the umpire that it was not his duty to dictate the players. Javed further argued that it was the choice of the bowler to bowl at his desired length and umpires have nothing to do with that. However, the umpire told the bowler and his captain that if he delivers another bouncer in the match, he will be suspended. This made Pakistan really annoyed they ignored all such warnings.
